Patricia (Patty) Ann Melton

Patricia Ann "Patty" Melton passed away peacefully at her home on November 10, 2020, she was 64.
Born on July 16, 1956 in Bartlesville to Jimmie Dean and Betty Ruth (Maner) Thompson, Patty attended elementary and high school in Inola. She graduated with the class of 1974 and continued her education at Claremore Junior College. On March 30, 1979, Patty married Larry Gene Melton and the couple made Claremore home.
Patty's life revolved around her family; she was a devoted wife and mother. Larry and Patty’s forty-one years of marriage provided a shining example of faith and commitment. She poured her heart into raising her children and made it a priority to always be there for their activities. When her grandchildren came along, she was the best GrandPatty any child could ask for. Not only did her grandchildren call her GrandPatty, but on any given outing you could hear others say, “Hey, GrandPatty!” First Christian Church was also the recipient of her love and kindness. She had a servant’s heart and served as an elder, sang in the choir, and helped spearhead the church's "Friendship Feast" that provided weekly meals to the community. Patty was also the CWF president for seven years and past PEO chapter president. She was very close to her cousins and they all made an effort to stay close over the years. Their visits were filled with laughter, hugs, and stories from the past.
A kind and caring person that greeted you with a smile and hug, Patty will be missed by all who knew her. Family members that survive include her husband Larry Melton; her children Greg Melton and wife Paloma, Jake Melton, and Angela James and husband Eric all of Claremore; her grandchildren Isabella Melton, Aiden James, Alec James, and Callie James; her brother and sister-in-law Rob and Sandy Melton; a niece and nephew and a host of cousins. Patty was preceded in death by her parents Jimmie and Betty Thompson.
