Patrick Dwain McQueen

Patrick McQueen, 68, of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away May 16, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of service, hard work, and humor.

Pat was born on August 21, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, to Tommy and Barbara (Coble) McQueen. The family later moved to Claremore, where Pat attended school and graduated in 1974. Soon after, he proudly joined the United States Army, serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1977. His dedication to military service continued as he joined the National Guard, where he served for 17 more years and earned the respected rank of First Sergeant.

Pat’s strong work ethic began early—his first job was at just 14 years old, working for Guy Henshall's Auto Parts. After his time in active service, he briefly worked for Agrico before starting his long and fulfilling career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Through commitment and determination, Pat rose through the ranks and eventually retired as a lock master, a role he took great pride in.

On September 6, 1986, Pat married the love of his life, Michele Peterson. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and community in Claremore.

In his free time, Pat could often be found on the golf course, tinkering with home projects, or riding his Harley. He had a natural knack for fixing things and an even greater gift for light-hearted mischief—especially when it came to teasing his nieces and nephews, a pastime he truly relished.

Pat will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, loyal soldier, hardworking professional, and beloved family man whose wit and warmth will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Michele McQueen of Claremore; children, John McQueen, David McQueen, and Chloe McQueen; siblings, Jeff McQueen, Lee McQueen and wife Connie and Kim Dowd and husband Lyle; grandchildren, Randy, Audree, Kayla, J.J., and Avery; nephews and nieces, Blake, Holly, Blakely, Steven, Rachel, Caleb, Heather, Max, Tommy, Mariah, Asher, Ryan and Sarah and daughter-in-law, Jessica Weilert and husband Rob, and a host of extended family members, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him.
