Eddie was a hard worker and worked as a mechanic with Rockwell, and later Boeing, retiring after 35 years of faithful service.  When he wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed fishing and tractor collecting.  He and Charlotte loved going to estate sales, where they were always on the lookout for that certain treasure.  His priority was family and he loved following his grandchildren around to their games and concerts.  Eddie was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and followed their games.  He loved the Lord was committed to his church, Friendly Foyil Baptist.  Eddie even donated the land that the church sits on.  Some of his spiritual words were "Praise God", and "It's Ok".  One of the scriptures he lived by was Proverbs 16:9, A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

Those family members that survive include his wife, Charlotte Barnes; his children Tammie Wells, Michael Barnes and wife Connie, and Regina Kallenberger and husband Don; grandchildren Jamie Cobb, Matt Wells, Jeremy Wells, Mark Wells, Heather Petros, Hailee Deaver, Cody Barnes, Garrett Bell, Amanda Kallenberger, Kendra Kallenberger, Kallene Brewer, Radley Caffey, Randi Berryman, Adam Kallenberger, and Kaygan Kallenberger; and numerous great grandchildren; his sisters Margie Wagner and husband Jim and Shirley Casteel and husband Tommy; his brothers-in-law Ray Kempel and wife Debbie and Charles Kempel and wife Linda.  Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rosa Barnes and his son-in-law Donnie Wells.
