Paul Warren Pixley passed away peacefully at his home in Claremore on August 15, 2025, at the age of 75.

Born in McAlester, Oklahoma, on May 13, 1950, to F. Warren and Patricia A. (Humphrey) Pixley, Paul was the eldest of five children. His family later moved to Claremore, where he graduated from Claremore High School on May 20, 1968. An accomplished athlete, he lettered in multiple sports and earned Verdigris Valley All-Conference honors in football his senior year. He also proudly attended Oklahoma American Legion Boys State.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Paul attended Oklahoma State University, graduating on May 13, 1972, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. During his college years, he was an active member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity as well as the OSU Flight School where he developed an affinity for aviation.

That same year, Paul joined his father in the family business, Pixley Lumber Company. Over the next 50 years, his leadership and dedication guided the company’s growth, and he eventually became President and CEO. After retiring, he continued to serve as Chairman of the Board.

On June 18, 1977, Paul married the love of his life, Beverly Ann Wilson, nee George, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Claremore. Together, they raised three sons: John Wilson (Gen), Chris (Aubree), Mark (Tara) and were blessed with six grandchildren: Abbie Wilson and fiancé Tyler Dunlap, Ian Wilson, Ben Wilson, Sierra Love, Mason Pixley, and Cruz Brim.

Paul’s commitment to Claremore extended far beyond business. He was deeply involved in civic and charitable work, serving on numerous boards and committees throughout his lifetime. His leadership roles included President of the Rogers County Homebuilders’ Association, Claremore United Way Drive Chairman, and Vice Chairman of the Claremore Industrial and Redevelopment Authority where he was a founding committee member of the Claremore Regional Airport. He was also a founding member of the Claremore Public Schools Foundation and the Claremore Field of Dreams Baseball Banquet, which supports the local baseball community.

A man of many talents and passions, Paul was an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, singing in the choir and serving on the parish council. He coached youth baseball, and was Scoutmaster of Troop 80. A lover of music, he sang with the Claremore Community Chorus and even performed at Carnegie Hall.

His contributions to the financial and professional sectors included service as a past board member or director for BancFirst (formerly 1st Bank), Fidelity Federal Savings and Loan, Bank of Oklahoma – Claremore, Allied Building Stores, Mid-America Lumbermen’s Association, and others.

In recognition of his dedication to Claremore, Paul was named Claremore Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year and Progressive Citizen of the Year in 1989. In January 2022, the American Legion baseball stadium was renamed Murray–Pixley Park at Legendary Legion Field, honoring Paul’s decades of service alongside A.G. Murray.

Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly; his children and grandchildren; and his siblings, Mary Warden (Tom), John Pixley (Kathy), Ruth Stone (Ross), and Joe Pixley (Chantal). He was preceded in death by his parents.

Paul will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community; his business acumen; his generosity; and his gift for bringing people together. His legacy will continue to inspire for generations to come.
