Paula Jean Johnson Dykes, born January 4, 1955, in Middletown, Ohio, passed away on March 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and a deep devotion to the people she loved.
Paula was a proud and loving mother to her four daughters: Roni Aiello (Lee Armstrong), Brandy Baker, Kristian Baker, and Sarah Macher (Jimmy). She was also a caring stepmother to Nick Dykes (Diana) and Tiandra Stogsdill.
She was a devoted grandmother to Cayla, Morgan, Mariah, Hannah, Breeanna, Julia, Liam, Kenna, Gannon, Jacob, Adien, Talon, and Emily, and a cherished great-grandmother to Jayden, Sophia, Jaxon, Rowan, Lachlan, and Logan. Each of them brought her endless joy and pride.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Dykes. They shared 24 years of love and companionship, building a life rooted in unwavering support.
Paula is also survived by her beloved Aunt Faye, who held a special place in her heart, as well as her sisters, Cheryl Lisa, and Brenda, and her brother, Jeffery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Barry, and her sister Kym.
Paula was truly one of a kind, a caring and gentle soul who always chose to see the good in others. She had a remarkable ability to forgive, even when it was not easy, and she carried love in her heart wherever she went.
She embraced life with curiosity and joy and rarely turned down a new experience. She especially cherished traveling with her daughters, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Paula had a gift for finding happiness in the little things, whether it was a great garage sale find or a trip to her favorite store. She never met a Walmart she did not like.
She also had a deep love for her pets, especially her beloved Rottweilers, Mickey’s, Teddy, Maggie, Tillie, and Titus, and most recently her Great Pyrenees, Elliot, who brought her laughter, comfort, and companionship.
Known lovingly as the family “notifier,” Paula had a special way of keeping everyone connected. Her gift for sharing news helped hold her family together across distance and time.
Above all, Paula’s legacy is one of love. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her laughter, and the way she made everyone feel seen and cared for.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
