Phyliss Maureen (Bayless) Beasley

Phyliss Maureen (Bayless) Beasley, aged 87, passed away on February 19th, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on August 31st, 1934, in Medicine Mound, Texas to Lewey William Bayless and Vivian Pearl (Davidson) Bayless.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.J. Beasley; her parents; two brothers, Thomas Bayless and Lewey Alan Bayless; one son, Robert Kent Beasley; one sister, Patricia Bayless McGuffin.
Phyliss graduated from Gruver High School in 1954 in Gruver, Texas. She married H.J., in Spearman, Texas in 1954. She was a military wife and lived in many places including Arizona, Guam, Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma. In Oklahoma she attended Lone Chapel Assembly of God in Pryor, Oklahoma, the church her father was a founding father of. Phyliss loved her family deeply and enjoyed flower gardening, painting, sketching and sewing. She was an avid reader and scholar. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Rogers State University at the age of 62. While in college, she had excellent grades. Her father once joked with her that he could finally put her report card on the refrigerator! Later in life, she had many Pomeranian doggies that she loved dearly. She loved animals, especially birds and she made sure they were always fed and watered.
She is survived by her son, Greg Beasley and wife Shelly of Hawley, Texas; two daughters, Sharon Reneﹶ Beasley and Kenneth Mooneyham of Pryor, Oklahoma and Marilyn Kim Beasley and Steven Kirby of Nashville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Cody Lee Harwell, Jamie Nichol (Harwell) Bastin, John Cole Miller, Laci Dione (Beasley) Sherrod, Nathan Seth Miller, Brent William Beasley and Albry O’ryan Pickel Mooneyham; eight great-grandchildren, Sadie Marie Mooneyham, Jaxon Lee Harwell, Brooks Carter Bastin, Blaise Mooneyham, Courtlin Jade Sherrod, Lillyann Harwell, Ronan Mooneyham and Sunlin Sage Sherrod.
