Phyllis “Tush” A. Blankenship, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026.
Phyllis was born on November 8, 1947, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Henry Orr and Phillipa Orr. She grew up in Claremore and attended Sequoyah High School, graduating with the Class of 1964.
Phyllis lived a full and peaceful life on the family farm, where she found great joy in the simple pleasures of country living. Surrounded by her beloved dogs, cats, chickens, and especially her fainting goats, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Known for her joyful spirit, Phyllis was always laughing and embracing life’s moments. She shared many treasured adventures with her sister Nita and her niece Dawn, creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Blankenship; her brothers, Ted, Jimmy, and Wayne Lawson, and Skip, Tommy, and Curt Orr; and her sisters, Irene Feisal and Nita Chambers.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Sam Orr, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her fondly and carry her memory in their hearts.
Phyllis will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her kind heart, her laughter, and the simple, beautiful life she lived.
