Phyllis Jean Replogle

June 6, 1954 — May 21, 2020

Phyllis was born on June 6, 1954 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her loving parents H.D. and Sheila Ratliff. Her family moved to Catoosa when she was eight years old, and Phyllis lived there for the remainder of her life, except for three years in Tahlequah while attending college. She participated in basketball, softball, and track. Phyllis was voted queen in her 6th grade class. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Replogle. Phyllis and Jerry have three beautiful children, Mickey, Joshua and Chanda. She also enjoyed her eight wonderful grandchildren.
Phyllis accepted God into her heart at the early age of seven or eight years old. She asked her dad to attend church with the rest of the family. Her dad accepted Christ and later became a deacon. Phyllis received perfect attendance pins at church several years. She participated in Bible Sword drills, sang in a quartet, taught Sunday School class, helped in a Sunday morning bus ministry, and taught Bible School for several years.
Phyllis received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Northeastern State University in just three years. Her first teaching position was at Catoosa Elementary School where she taught first grade. She was a teacher at Catoosa Public Schools for 23 years. She taught in Locust Grove for three years and Pryor for five years. She was forced into early retirement due to a serious medical condition contracted while at school. She later returned to Catoosa for another five years before retiring a second time.
While teaching, Phyllis was twice voted Teacher of the Year. She also served on the leadership of the Association of Catoosa Classroom Teachers.
Over the years, Phyllis has become well known for her arts and crafts expertise. She mastered macrame, stained glass, painting, many different baking hobbies, beads, jewelry, and sewing. Most recently, she became quite skilled at home improvement projects.
She was preceded in death by her father, H.D. Ratliff. She is survived by her husband Jerry, of Catoosa, her mother Sheila Ratliff, of Tahlequah, sister Teresa Ratliff of Tahlequah, son Mickey Replogle and wife Stacy, of Broken Arrow, son Josh Replogle and wife Lucy, of Catoosa, and daughter Chanda and husband Ricky, of Pordenone, Italy, and eight grandchildren.
