Randall, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 28, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 75.
Born on August 8, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, Randall was the son of Otis Martin Pickens and Delores (Gage) Shirley. His journey began in Kansas City, but at a young age he moved with his family to Claremore, Oklahoma, where he attended Claremore schools and graduated with the Class of 1968.
Randall’s passion for learning and faith led him to Victory Bible College, where he was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel. On February 7, 1969, he married Alice Anne Gundermann, and together they built a loving life across various Oklahoma communities, as well as in St. Louis, Missouri.
Throughout his life, Randall cultivated a diverse range of interests and pursued a fulfilling career in Information Technology, working for EDS, Williams Companies, Amdahl, and NCR-Comten, and finishing his professional career at Edward Jones in St. Louis Missouri. In addition to his professional work, he pastored a church in Missouri, where he shared his deep love for the Bible and taught many about the Lord.
Randall was also a passionate historian. He founded the Facebook group “Claremore As I Remember,” showcasing his deep love for his hometown’s history. Another of his ministry passions, Seeds of Faith Ministry, allowed him to share in-depth teachings, music, and poetry, blending his artistic talents with Biblical truth. His writings resonated worldwide, reflecting his dedication to sharing God’s love with all.
A true American patriot, Randall took great pride in his country. He was known for his quick-witted humor, direct personality, and was always up for spirited debate about God and Country. His interests ranged from hunting and fishing to playing the guitar and writing lyrics and poetry. In his earlier years, he enjoyed bowling and was also a talented woodworker, crafting furniture that brought joy to his family.
Randall is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alice Pickens; daughter Tammy Pickens; daughter Patricia Lederman and husband Jay; son Randall Pickens, Jr. and wife Tina; his cherished grandchildren, Zoe Villagomez, Zeke Villagomez, Jacob Lederman and wife Hannah, Gloria Brand and husband Matthew, Samuel Lederman and wife Haley, Lauren Lederman, Kristine Benz and husband Trevor, Katie Pickens, Caleb Pickens, Zach Pickens and wife Lizzie, and Emily Pickens; and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought joy to his life.
