Renee Lee Corbett, age 84, passed away on April 7, 2026. She was born on March 5, 1942, in New London, Connecticut, the oldest of seven children, to Douglas and Marjorie (Heacox) Merritt.

Throughout her life, Renee lived in many places, including Connecticut, Kansas, Illinois, Missouri, and Oklahoma. She graduated from Missouri State University with her bachelor’s degree in 1976 and later earned her master’s degree in 1979. Throughout her career, she worked as a school psychometrist for Jenks Public Schools and for the State Department of Education, where she dedicated many years of service.

Renee was a sports fan through and through. She loved watching the Los Angeles Dodgers, OU football, attending TU basketball games, and Drillers baseball games. Saturdays were often spent talking with her son Derrick about college football, while Sundays were reserved for phone calls with her daughter Lora to discuss NFL games. Renee loved to take trips and travel with her daughter Raquel to visit family members in Nevada, Kansas and Missouri. She also enjoyed stopping at an Irish pub for a “pint” with her husband, Lee.

Renee cherished FaceTiming with her grandchildren and staying closely connected to their lives. No matter the distance or obstacles, she always made an effort to be a part of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She also held a special place in her heart for her longtime friend Debbie, whom she loved like a sister. Their bond was a testament to the power of friendship, filled with laughter, support, and unconditional love.

She is preceded in death by her son, Kirk Reno.

Renee is survived by her husband, Lee Corbett; children, Derrick Reno, Lora Reno, and Raquel Klahr; stepdaughter, Caren Gioannini; stepsons, Jeffery Corbett and Scott Corbett; grandchildren, Luke Stich, Brendan Reno, Amber Thomas, Ashley Reno, and Ellie Reno; step-grandchildren, Michaela Campbell, Dallas Corbett, and Dahlton Corbett; along with six great-grandchildren.

Renee will be remembered for her dedication to her profession and the deep love she had for her family.
