Rhonda Jean Harrell, 73, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2025. Born May 1, 1952, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Frankie and Charles Davenport. As a young girl, she cherished time spent with her brother Rick and sister Donna, bonds that shaped her caring heart and stayed with her throughout her life.
Rhonda was a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted nanny. She had a deep love for children, and dedicated many years to caring for them. First, as a daycare owner, and later as a trusted nanny. Her gentle spirit, patience, and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on the many children, and families she served over the years.
Above all else, Rhonda was a strong and devoted mother to her three sons, Michael, Marc, and Matthew. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, always putting their needs before her own. In her later years, Rhonda found her way back to her faith, and found strength in her relationship with Jesus. Through her example, she taught the values of love, resilience, and strength, lifting her sons and grandchildren up in prayer and placing her trust in God’s plan for their lives.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren—Kailey, Lauren, Taylor, and Trevor—who brought her immeasurable joy. She cherished every moment spent watching them grow and delighted in being part of their lives, always offering encouragement, warmth, and unconditional love.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother Frankie Bailey, father Jim Davenport, sister Donna Holsten, and her beloved brother Rick Davenport. Today, we find comfort in the promise Jesus gave in John 14:2–3: “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me.” We trust that Rhonda has been welcomed home by her Savior, reunited with those she loved who went before her—especially her brother Rick—and now rests in perfect peace. Though our hearts grieve, we hold onto the hope of faith, and say not goodbye, but until we meet again.
She is survived by her sons Michael, Marc, and Matthew, and her cherished grandchildren Kailey, Lauren, Taylor, and Trevor. Rhonda’s legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on through them and through all whose lives she touched.
