Ricky Dale Powell, a dedicated father and beloved husband passed away on June 30, 2023, at the age of 61.

Rick was born in Millington, Tennessee, on March 24, 1962, to Gordon and Wanda (McMillen) Powell. At age 9 his family moved to Broken Arrow where he attended Broken Arrow High School and graduated with the Class of 1981. Rick began his career as a sheet metal apprentice right after high school. However, his co-worker and friend was applying to the Tulsa Fire Department and asked Rick to apply with him on a whim.  Rick landed at the fire department where he found his true calling was in serving his community as a firefighter. For 26 years, Rick served in the Tulsa Fire Department, rising through the ranks to retire as a Captain. His commitment to his role and the safety of others was unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on those he served alongside. Rick’s dedication extended beyond his professional life, as he also took on the responsibility of raising his three sons as a single father. He cherished his role as a dad and loved being able to raise his boys.

It was during his time coaching T-Ball that Rick’s path crossed with the love of his life, Becky, in 1993. Their connection was immediate, and on October 5, 1995, they joined in marriage. Rick and Becky spent 27 wonderful years together, where they built a life with all their children.  Their adventures included ball games, wrestling matches, cheerleading events, snow skiing, camping, boating, hiking, motorcycle trips, fishing and so much more. Their time together was filled with laughter, love  and cherishing each other's company through life's ups and downs.

Rick was known for his mischievous sense of humor and love of laughter. He was a natural prankster, always ready with a good joke to bring a smile to those around him. Rick embraced life to the fullest, finding joy in spending time with family and amazing friends. During his time away from the fire department, Rick also owned and operated RPR Grading Solutions, his dirt work business.

Rick Dale Powell will be dearly missed by his loving family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Rick is preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Powell.

Rick is survived by his parents; wife, Becky; children, Ricky Powell and wife Rachel, Michael Sullivan and wife Samantha, Jake Powell and wife Sarah, Jeffery Powell, Rachel Truesdale and husband Travis; brother, Randy Powell; grandchildren, Jaxon Powell, Katelyn Sullivan, Brenden Sullivan, Landry Powell, Lane Powell, Madi Sullivan, Sadie Powell, Ares Truesdale, Phenix Truesdale, and baby Powell on the way.
