Robert Miles Kahanek

Services for Robert Miles Kahanek will be 11:00a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church, Inola, Oklahoma. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 18, from 1pm-8pm, with family receiving visitors from 6pm-8pm. Robert passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the age of 75.
Robert Miles Kahanek was born January 24, 1940 in Prague, Oklahoma to Robert Joseph and Jewell Mae (Coleman) Kahanek. He was reared and educated in his birth community, graduating with the class of 1958. Following his schooling, Robert enlisted in the US Navy and served his country for 4 years as an aviation electrician. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Prague. On November 8, 1980 Robert married Sally F. Medlock and the couple made their home in Catoosa until 1993 when they moved to Inola. Robert was a faithful employee of American Airlines as a jet engine mechanic, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge. Robert loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends at Lake Tenkiller.
Robert is survived by his wife Sally of their home; his daughter Kyle Miller and his son Kris Kahanek both of Tulsa; his grandson Sean Lewis and his granddaughter Mindy and his mother-in-law June Medlock. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
