Sammi passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of 50, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and community service.

Born on September 20, 1973, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Sammi was the daughter of Earl and Corie (Kittrell) Hamilton. Growing up just outside of Claremore, Sammi attended Oologah schools, where she excelled both academically and athletically. She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and enjoyed playing tennis, but her true passion was softball. As a pitcher, she helped lead her team to win two state championships. She was also a classmate of Tad Jones and they were king and queen of the prom.

After high school, Sammi attended Rogers State College and she worked at Pixley Lumber Company where she loved greeting people and making them smile. Sammi later transferred to Evangel College in Missouri, where she became the first pitching recruit for their newly formed softball team. She continued her education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Government, graduating Cum Laude, before attending Tulsa University, where she received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1999.

In the fall of 1996, Sammi reconnected with Tad, by a reunion orchestrated by their parents who had crossed paths in Claremore. Their first date took place at a Sequoyah football game, where they reminisced about their shared faith and fond memories. They continued dating and were married on October 25, 1997, at Claremore Assembly of God Church.

Shortly after their marriage, Sammi took on the role of campaign supporter, helping Tad in his successful bid to become the Oklahoma State Representative for District 9. For the next 12 years, she supported him throughout his public service career while balancing her own law career and her family. Sammi worked with local attorney firm Carle and Mosier and was an Assistant District Attorney and Title attorney before choosing to devote herself fully to her family after the birth of their first son in 2004.

Sammi found immense joy in homeschooling her four sons and prioritizing their education, with world and American history being some her favorite topics. In addition to her devotion to her family, she loved reading and discussing the Bible. She enjoyed traveling around the country with Tad and their children and spending time with her family brought her the greatest joy. Sammi was a true patriot who loved her country and was a faithful member of Claremore First Baptist.

Sammi is preceded in death by her father, Earl Hamilton.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tad Jones; her sons, Logan Jones and his wife Anna, Blake Jones, Connor Jones, and Pierce Jones; her mother, Corie Hamilton; her brother, Jimmy Hamilton, and his wife Amy; her brother-in-law, Jeff Jones, and his wife Shirley; her sister-in-law, Dixie Wood, and her husband Dakota; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her deeply.

Sammi's warmth, faith, and dedication to her family and community will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
