Sammye Ella (Ryder) Wood, 87, passed away Thursday, October 20th, 2022, in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was born April 30th, 1935, to Haskell and Nettie (Burke) Ryder in Beggs, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill D. Wood; daughter, Donna Kuchta; two grandsons, Ken White and Casey Wood; two sisters, Nina Long and Vivian Montgomery; brother-in-law, Bill long; and daughter-in-law, Karla Wood.
Sammye was a 1953 graduate of Sapulpa High School. She was a devoted Christian who spent most of her time in the church. She’s been a member of Verdigris Assembly of God since 1975, where she taught the senior Sunday school class. She loved to sing and even was a member of a singing trio.
Her survivors include her daughter, Deborah White and husband Orvel of Claremore, Oklahoma; son, Greg Wood and wife Lorena Escobar; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive her.
