Sharon Kay Parks was born on December 19, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents J.C. and Moni McCuen. Her dad was a barber and a preacher so as he followed the direction of the Lord the family called multiple places home. Some of those being, Norman, Ok, Oklahoma City, OK, and Odessa, TX. In 1967 she went to a camp meeting in Wichita Kansas where she met the love of her life Raleigh Parks who had just returned home from the Army. After dating for about a year the happy couple got married on November 22, 1968 in Norman. Raleigh and Sharon settled in Chelsea where they built their life and raised their family.
Sharon loved to host dinner parties and cook for friends, family, and also evangelists from all over the United States whenever they were in the area to preach. She was especially known for her beautiful coconut cream pies. She enjoyed growing a garden which she could do very well but the thing that she enjoyed the most was planting flowers and tending to her flower beds then sitting on the patio to admire all the beautiful flowers. Her other joy was her flower shop, and that journey started by making tiny flower filled baskets in her spare room and selling them in craft stores or in rented booths. In 1997 she opened up her first flower shop {Baskets and Bows} in grandpa and grandma Parks' old homeplace before building her own flower shop {Florals by Sharon} around the summer of 1999.
Sharon is survived by her son; Tim Parks and wife Timalyn, daughter; Kerri Vaughn and husband Jason, grandchildren; Andrew Parks and wife Caselyn, Abigail Parks, Austin Parks, Madison Vaughn and wife Shelbie, Madelyn Clement and husband Ethan and great grandson; Taylan Parks
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Raleigh Parks, sister; Beverly Cole and her parents.
