Sharron Kay Nelson

Services to celebrate the life of Sharron Kay Nelson will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00pm at MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Sharron passed away on Sunday, April 12, she was 85.

She was born February 1, 1941, in Frederick, OK, to John Hughie and Dollie (Caddell) Bagwell. She was raised near Hollister where she attended school and graduated in 1959. She was valedictorian of her class excelling in business and accounting. She completed some accounting courses from the University of Oklahoma, Norman. She followed a career in accounting and loved her work. She was a successful businesswoman who owned and managed several rental properties.

She was in Girl Scouts, Rainbow for Girls, 4-H activities, winning several blue ribbons showing animals and baking at the Tillman County Fair, and played basketball for four years. She gave many speeches, played the piano and sang solos while attending school. Sharron loved to garden and fish when she got the chance. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching Bible classes, visiting the sick and shut-ins and doing volunteer work. She loved genealogy and was a member and former 2nd Vice President and Secretary on the Board in the Cleveland County Genealogical Society. She loved to travel to study her family genealogy.

Sharron was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clovis Wayne Bagwell and Kenneth Hugh Bagwell.

Sharron is survived by her companion, Tillman D. Tramel; children, Patricia Jones and husband, Chris and Mark Cagle; grandchildren, Cody Jones and wife, Sara, Clint Jones and wife, Danielle and Harley Cagle and companion, Dave Temple; great-grandchildren, Aubree Farmen, River Jones, Emmie Jones, Daphne Jones, and Aynsley Temple and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
