Sparky Don Maxwell

Sparky Maxwell, age 76, longtime resident of Inola, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026. He was born on February 7, 1950, to Sharon and John Bailey and Joe Eddy Maxwell, all of whom preceded him in death.

Sparky was a proud Army veteran who served his country honorably and later dedicated many years of his life caring for others as a retired nurse. He was known for his caring heart, quiet strength, and willingness to help anyone in need. Those who knew him will remember his love for the outdoors, especially the peaceful times he spent at the creek, where he found joy and comfort in nature.

Above all, Sparky loved his family deeply. He leaves behind his son, Travis Maxwell and wife Donna of Adair; his daughter, Anglec Wirtz and husband Joe of Texas; seven beloved grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; along with many siblings, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and friendship.

Sparky will be remembered for his gentle spirit, funny personality, down-to-earth nature, and free spirit. He lived life his own way and brought laughter and unforgettable memories to the people around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created with family and friends will live on forever.

Military honors will be rendered at 1:00p.m. on June 1st, 2026 with Visitation following immediately until 7:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the Inola Funeral Home Chapel.

The family asks that Sparky be remembered not only for the way he passed, but for the way he lived — with compassion, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.
