Steven Howard Martin passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born on May 4, 1955, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Emery Howard and Effie Mae Martin. He attended Chattanooga Public Schools during his early years and began a life of hard work at the age of 16 as a farmhand.
Throughout his career, Steven worked as a truck driver and later as a skilled welder in the aerospace industry. He was employed by both Pratt & Whitney and Honeywell, where he dedicated many years before retiring in 2020. He was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and unwavering dedication to his job and community.
Steven had a passion for fishing and spent many peaceful days at his favorite spot, Spavinaw Lake, especially with his beloved wife, Linda. The couple shared a special connection from the beginning, with their first date at the Woolaroc Museum &Wildlife Preserve. They were later married on May 5, 2012.
In addition to his professional life, Steven gave back to his community by volunteering with the Tiawah Fire Department for over 30 years. He was a strong-willed but humble man—kind, generous, and always willing to help others. To those who knew him, Steven would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. Above all, he deeply loved and prioritized his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Effie Martin, and his brother, Michael Martin.
Steven is survived by his loving wife, Linda Martin; Daughter Amanda Martin; 4 step children, 14 grandchildren,1 great grandson along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Steven’s legacy of hard work, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him
