Sue Ann Walden Jennings

Graveside services for Sue Ann Walden Jennings will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10:30 in the morning at Lone Chapel Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit the Chelsea funeral home on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the family receiving visitors from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sue Ann passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 59.

Born on April 4, 1967, in Pryor, Oklahoma, Sue Ann was a beloved daughter of James Willard Walden, Sr., and Augusta Mae Bilyeu Walden. She grew up in Chelsea, where she graduated from high school with the Class of 1985. She went on to receive a certificate in office administration from Vo-Tech. In 1986, she married Larry Jennings, and together they built a life in Chelsea.

Throughout her life, Sue Ann worked in a variety of roles, including working at a sewing factory, serving as office manager and co-owner of the family-run detail supply business, and later working at Walmart and Samco.

Sue Ann knew how to have a good time. She enjoyed having a cold beer and was an excellent pool player, spending many years playing in a pool league. She loved auctions and collecting antiques, particularly blue glass and cookie jars. At the height of her collection, she owned more than 300 cookie jars—although very few of them ever saw an actual cookie.

Anyone who knew Sue Ann knew she was never short on opinions. She spoke her mind freely, had a sharp sense of humor, and was more than willing to tell you exactly what she thought, whether you asked or not. You rarely had to wonder where you stood with Sue Ann.

Beneath that outspoken exterior was someone who cared deeply about how people were treated. Sue Ann taught her children from a young age never to judge someone because of a disability or their appearance. She often told them that she did not care if they brought home someone who was purple—as long as they loved them and were treated well, that was what mattered. That same acceptance carried throughout her family. Whether they were grandchildren, nieces, nephews, bonus kids, or simply someone who became part of the family along the way, Sue Ann made sure they knew they belonged.

Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and with her dog, Lego. She loved being part of the noise, laughter, arguments, stories, and everyday chaos that comes with a big family.

Sue Ann’s memory lives on through her children, Felicia French and husband Chris, Corissa Genn and husband Michael, and Tiger Jennings and Kristal. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, April, Emily, Chloe, Tucker, Skylar, James, Harper, and one soon to arrive, Hazel, as well as her great-grandson, Easton.

Sue Ann is also survived by her siblings, Steve Owings and wife Millie, Lou Ann Owings, Kathy Fry and husband Sammy, J.W. Walden and wife Carol, Tom Walden, Jimmy Walden, Tanya Masterson and husband Harry, and Debbie Walden, along with an exorbitant number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lee Owings, Bub Owings, and Dee Owings.

Sue Ann was outspoken, funny, generous, and unapologetically herself. She will be deeply missed and remembered exactly as she was.
