Born on June 23, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Ross T. and Georgia H. (Bethel) Naro, Thomas moved with his family to Oklahoma in 1949. He attended Sequoyah public schools, and following his graduation, he furthered his education at Oklahoma Military Academy and Northeastern State University. Thomas served his country with honor in the Army, retiring in 1993 at the rank of E-6 with Co. C 279 Infantry.

Thomas's career in education spanned over 40 years at Foyil Public Schools, where he left a lasting legacy as a teacher, coach, superintendent, driver's ed instructor, and bus driver. He retired from this cherished role in 2013.

His greatest joy was his daughter, Tomi Naro, born in 1989, to whom he dedicated his life. He embraced the role of a father figure to her husband and celebrated the arrival of his grandchildren, Kash Thomas and Layni Johnson.

Thomas filled his life with love for family and friends, enjoying hunting, fishing, and lively nights dancing. He loved traveling to Branson and attending Woody's auctions with Tomi and later with his grandchildren.

He is fondly remembered by his daughter Tomi Johnson, husband Dejaun Johnson, grandchildren Kash and Layni, sister Sheila Evans, Rosanne Marlin and her husband Bill, and Ricky and Elaine Naro. Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ross and Georgia Naro.

In honor of Thomas's legacy, donations can be made to Foyil Public Schools.
