Thomas Scott Jones, 72, of Claremore, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026 in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Thomas Scott Jones was born on June 30, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to parents, Thomas P. Jones and Margaret Jones. His family lovingly called him Scotty. The Jones family moved from Chicago to Southern California when Thomas was a young child. As a kid he enjoyed playing Pop Warner Football, Little League baseball and lovingly pestering his older sister Sandy. Thomas followed in his father's footsteps as a career pressman in the printing industry. He loved a change of scenery and took his trade all along the California Coast working in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Pismo Beach and even a few years in Hawaii before settling in Northeast Oklahoma with his daughters.

Thomas especially loved adventure throughout his lifetime. He was a marathon runner in his early adult years. He enjoyed biking, riding ATVs, and especially fishing in his later years. He enjoyed working on cars and off roading in his 1960's Voltzwagen Baja Beetle. Thomas was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle who cherished his family.

His greatest joy was his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Papa". He was always front and center to watch them receive every school award or compete on the field, the court or the stage. He was the proudest Papa.

Thomas is survived by his loving daughters, Janna Phillips and her husband, Drew Phillips, and Ashley Jones and her husband, Christopher Greene. His grandchildren: Taylor and Cambrye Phillips, and Reese and Ryan Jones. His sister Sandra Duma. His niece, Susan Martinez and her husband David Martinez and his nephew Matthew Duma and his wife Rochelle Duma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jones and Margaret Jones, Brother-in-law Rodney Duma and Grandson Bryce Phillips.

Although he faced health challenges in his later years, he never allowed them to stop him from living life to the fullest or enjoying the people and things he loved the most. He continued to make memories, spend time with his family and cheer on those he loved the most until the very end. We will remember him for his strength, determination, and love.
