September 9th, 1959 – July 10, 2025
Tracey Jean Wallis passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 65. She was born on September 9th, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Sam and Winiford Shepherd. Tracey grew up in Tulsa and graduated from East Central High School with the Class of 1977. She went on to further her education at Oklahoma State University and Rogers State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree.
Tracey met, Craig Wallis, while working as a secretary for Carrier Service. Their connection grew into a lifelong partnership full of love, laughter, and shared adventures.
Over the years, Tracey dedicated herself to education and community service. She worked as a para and teacher’s assistant for Claremore Public Schools and later served as an Educational Specialist at Rogers State University. She also worked as a volunteer coordinator for SafeNet, showing her passion for helping others.
Tracey’s interests were as vibrant as her personality. She had a deep love for gardening and an exceptional talent for training dogs—specifically for search and rescue missions. Her expertise took her across the country as she worked with local law enforcement agencies. One of her proudest achievements was finally owning her dream car: a convertible Miata.
She was a lover of nature and enjoyed traveling, especially to national parks and scenic destinations. One of her favorite places to visit was Little Gasparilla Island off the coast of Florida. However, above all else, Tracey cherished her role as “Grammy” to her beloved granddaughter, Katarina, who was the light of her life.
Tracey was preceded in death by her mother, Winiford Shepherd. She is survived by her loving husband, Craig Wallis; father, Sam Shepherd; daughters, Andrea Koch and Caitlyn Koch and fiancé James Eastin; brothers, Lee Shepherd and wife Teresa, and Eric Shepherd; sister, Connie Moore; and her granddaughter, Catarina Eastin.
Tracey will be remembered for her generous heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will continue in the lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.
