Virgil Pendergraft

Virgil Gayle Pendergraft went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Virgil was born on June 14, 1950, to Virgil and Lucille Pendergraft in Claremore, OK. He was one of five children. Virgil married his wife, Carol, on June 26, 1993. They were married for 33 years.

Virgil attended Foyil Schools throughout his youth. After graduating, he became a truck driver, owned a janitorial business, and was a lifelong farmer. Virgil was known as a fun-loving jokester by all who knew him.

Some of Virgil's favorite pastimes were hunting with Mickey and Lee, fishing with Parks, and sharing his love of animals with Aaron, Abbey, and Shaylin. Virgil was also the head chef in the Pendergraft kitchen. He was renowned for his pies, fried fish, and deer steak.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Trisha Dale and her husband, David, Gayla Moree, and William Pendergraft; his brother, Jerry Pendergraft; his sister, Leah Barnes; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lucille Pendergraft; his brother, Doyle Pendergraft; and his sister, Donna Maloney.

Memorial Service will be held ad MMS Payne Funeral Home in Claremore at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 31, 2026.
