Vivian Lois Basler passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 79. Raised in Perryton, Texas, Vivian moved to Oklahoma in 1973, where her and husband Lee made their home. Vivian is survived by her husband Orville (Lee) Basler; daughter Jamie and Craig Lloyd and their children Jake and Eli of Keller, Texas; daughter Amy and Michael Nixon and their children Sam, Avery, and Hadley of Ann Arbor, Michigan; son Josh Basler of Claremore, OK; brother Harold Trew; beloved friends Jerry and Elaine Kibby, Daniel and Kim McDaniel, and many other friends. Vivian was predeceased by her parents Charles and Beryl Trew, her sister Gayle Trew, and nephew Jason McGee.
After Justus School and Joyce’s Flower Shop in Tulsa, Vivian worked at State Farm for several years and her family counted on receiving State Farm themed holiday gifts. Vivian received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma while working full time. After her retirement, Vivian was blessed to spend several years traveling with Lee and friends. She and Lee explored antiques stores in several states and had a great time collecting. A talented seamstress, painter, quilter, and crafter of all varieties, Vivian loved spending time with the Country Fare Quilters’ Guild whose members have provided invaluable support to the family.
Vivian enjoyed reading, cooking, and hosting events. Vivian loved her grandkids and grand pets, along with her and Lee’s succession of Schnauzers.
Vivian never met a stranger and continued making friends in her final days including her caregivers at Baptist Village and Seasons Hospice who made her last days as joyful as possible.
Vivian’s viewing will be October 9th at MMS Payne from 1-7 with the family present from 5-7. Vivian’s funeral will be October 10th at MMS Payne at 2 with Vivian being laid to rest afterward at Oakhaven Cemetery.
