Wendell Douglas Johnson was born August 5, 1935 in Dallas, Georgia, to Ralph and Alta Johnson.


He attended Hiram High School. From there he entered the military, where he served as Chief Warrant Officer 4 for thirty years, then transferred to the Reserves while working as the Chief of Emergency Management for the Corps of Engineers. After retirement, he went to work for American Bank of Oklahoma in Collinsville for over twenty years. He served on the Collinsville and state of Oklahoma school boards for over twenty years. He loved the Collinsville community, where he resided for most of his adult life, with countless friends that he considered family.


He is preceded in death by both his parents, Ralph and Alta.


He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Richard and Sascha Johnson of Claremore; grandchildren Kylie and husband Paul Hoke and their children, Bentile and Baker Hoke, also of Claremore, and Jordan Lyons of Tulsa; cousins Larry and Shirley Elliot of Centere, AL, and Marian Bennett of Dallas, GA; and many other family members in the Georgia area.
