Born September 17, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lloyd Arthur and Virginia May (Equals) Johnson, Lloyd grew up in Tulsa and received his education there.  He went to Will Rogers High and graduated with the class of 1957.  Following high school, Lloyd enlisted with the Navy as a radarman and proudly served his country.  He returned to Oklahoma after his honorable discharge and worked on the pipeline as an X-Ray technician before embarking on a 36 year career as a product designer for companies such as Danuser Machine Works, which later became Hesston Corporation, Oil Dynamics until it's closing, finishing his career at Centrilift in Claremore, retiring following a heart transplant in April of 2000.

A toothache led Lloyd to a chance encounter with Nettie at the dental office.  He was smitten by her, and took two weeks to work up the nerve to ask her on a date to the A&W Stand in Claremore.  The rest is history, the couple married on August 2, 1975 and have cared for each other ever since.  Lloyd enjoyed photography, travel, wood working, numerous motorcycles, astronomy from his backyard observatory, and building remote controlled planes and cars. He also doted on his faithful canine companion Winston. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, which gave him an excuse to build and destroy many different things with fireworks.  Lloyd loved his family and he made every effort to spend time with them.  He especially loved his grandchildren.  He was always caring for Nettie and making sure she had everything she needed.

Those family members that survive include Nettie, his beloved wife as well as daughter Jennifer Wheet (and Dr. Scott Wheet) and their children Jack, William, Mary, and David;
daughter Laura Leiker and her daughters Kirsten Brown and husband Cody with their children Karley and CJ, and Katie Jo Leiker; son Charles Johnson and wife Rebecca Ravera, and children Presten Campbell, Deven Campbell and wife Heaven Delgado and daughter Mila, Kylah Johnson, Robyn Johnson and husband David Margishvili, and Ashleigh Johnson and Danny Rivas with their daughter Ryleigh; daughter Rebecca Yoder and husband Robert and their son Alex; his sister Pamela Ford; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.  Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents.
